The World Is FlatPosted by h7adam91 in Uncategorized, tags: Karl Fisch, shift happens, the world is flatclick image to see larger The video “Shift Happens” by Karl Fisch talks about the differences in a “declining” America and an “inclining” rest of the world. The video provides many facts about China’s education policies and their technological advances. The video also explains about the jobs that are being outsourced to foreign countries. A specific quote from the video that might of made me think was “China will soon be the number one English speaking country in the world. That quote means a lot because China’s native language isn’t English. It will effect my future and the future of my children because all these companies who want to do business in China will be able to communicate without having to hire a translator. This video has definitely made me think more about my future. First, the career I want to pursue (Graphic Design) is one job that is being outsourced. When I finish high school in 2010 and college in 2-4 more years the job may not be available in the United States. This video really changed my perspective towards outsourcing because when I first heard of it I thought it couldn’t effect me just major business but now I know that it is very real and very much a part of everyday life.

FotoFlexer.com ReviewPosted by h7adam91 in Uncategorized, tags: Fotoflexer, fotoflexer review, photo editor
The piece of webware I’m writing about is FotoFlexer.com. It is a free online photo editor it can create things for your photos such as effects, animations, and layers. The feature on fotoflexer.com. I am most impressed with is all the variety of effects it has. Here is an example of a photo edited with FotoFlexer.I think that FotoFlexer can improve on how many different ways you can save the your photos. Such as when you want to save to you computer it makes it an “All Files” extension which wont let you insert into blogs so you have to work around it with paint or a program like paint.
One of the photos I made with FotoFlexer is a modified picture of an eclipse with blue tint and and blur edges I also reduced the focal point to get the white edges so it would look like the edge was shinning. This is another review of fotoflexer by pc advisorthey gave it 4 out of 5 stars and it explains all of the features compared to picnik.com. All in all I would give Fotoflexer.com two thumbs up it’s a very powerful image editor and easy to use which makes it perfect webware for beginners.

Picnik.com reviewPosted by h7adam91 in Uncategorized, tags: photo editor, Picnik.com, review, webwarePicnik-A Review By Adam Pinkston Picnik.com is a free piece of webware that allows you to edit photos. It can create special effects, take away red-eye, re-size the photo, and add frames. Some of the features on Picnik i’m most impressed with the amount of special effects that it lets you use for your photos, and the red-eye remover. Some of the different special effects it has are making the picture black and white, night vision, and doodle. The red-eye remover is probably the most useful feature on the website since it is one of the frequent problem with photos. I think picnik could improve its website by making some of the useful premium features free that would add a whole dimension to the website. Picnik is really useful for a free product some of the other photo editors like Adobe Photoshop CS3 can cost up to $999.00. Picnik is mostly free except for the premium features which cost about $25/year. Here is another review of picnik Walt Mossberg it gives a good insight into the product. These are some of the photos i have edited using picnik.com. I used a focal blur on the first picture along with a invert, and on the second picture i used a color overlap to change it red. Overall in the time I was allotted to use picnik.com I would give it two thumbs up it is a very good photo editor for free.

Web 1.0 Vs. Web 2.0Posted by h7adam91 in Uncategorized, tags: comparison, new internet era, software, web 1.0, web 2.0, webwareIntroduction We live in a world of technology today that can be used for a lot of good, and unfortunately some people use it for bad. The Internet is a perfect example of that. The web consists of web-pages created by people that can do many tasks. For example Google.com is a search engine but also provides e-mail, personal pages, shopping, maps, and news. Web 1.0 Web 1.0 was an era of approximately 10 years(1994-2004). During this time most people could only consume information. To make websites you had to have a real understanding of “HTML”. I don’t think many people would expect the Internet to be where it is today. Web 2.0 Web 2.0 is the era of the Internet we are at today. We still consume a lot of information but now it is easier to produce to other people without having to know “HTML”. Instead of having to pay money for software there are many pieces of webware that can do just as good. For example the website animoto.com lets you create montages and its Free. I believe in 10 more years the Internet will be available almost anywhere and offer webware better then software. The video below further in depth look at the differences between web 1.0 vs web 2.0
